The EMG Group, a specialist in corporate and private events, is set to expand with a tenth venue on 1 October 2025: Oolderhof in Herten. The acquisition comprises the conference centre and restaurant. With this addition, EMG is underlining its ambition to continue growing both in Limburg and beyond.

“Oolderhof is a unique venue with great potential. It fits in perfectly with our strategy of offering bookable events in a professional, inspiring setting,” says owner Danny Keppels. “Our focus is on the corporate market, both regionally and nationally and internationally, but private events such as weddings and coffee receptions are still possible.”

With this acquisition, EMG Group is strengthening its position in Central Limburg. The group has been operating De Grote Hegge in Thorn for many years and recently expanded into Breda with EMG Venue The Dock. The new venue in Herten boasts no fewer than 11 meeting rooms, suitable for groups of between 12 and 1,200 people. Co-shareholders Tom de Lepper and Jeroen Mulders will work alongside Keppels to further develop the venue.

The current owners of Oolderhof, Irene and Frank Cergnul, will retain a minority stake and remain involved in day-to-day operations, but will hand over day-to-day management to EMG after four years. “It was too big to run on our own, but too small for an operational manager. We were looking for a reliable partner to secure Oolderhof’s future and found one in EMG,” said the couple. “We’re delighted to remain involved with what feels like our ‘baby’.”

The hotel section of Oolderhof is not included in the takeover and will be repurposed. From 1 October, this section will be converted into a small-scale care home for people with memory problems. It will be run by the Van den Berg family, known for Huize Mientje in Nijmegen.

With Oolderhof as its tenth venue, EMG Group is taking the next step in its growth as a leading player in the events sector. The combination of strong local roots and a clear strategic vision sets the organisation up for the future.
